Therapeutic Laser Treatment
At Flowertown Chiropractic, we use a Summus Laser to treat many of our patients. Laser therapy improves healing time, decreases pain, increases circulation, and decreases swelling. When you visit our Summerville, SC, office, ask us if laser therapy is right for you!

Laser Treatment FAQ
Q: Do laser treatments hurt?
A: Areas of pain and inflammation may be sensitive prior to the reduction of pain. Typically, there is a mild, soothing feeling of warmth or tingling or no sensation at all during treatment.
Q: What are the side effects of laser therapy?
A: Most studies show no side effects of laser therapy.
Q: How long is a laser therapy treatment?
A: Treatments vary depending on the size and location of the area being treated. Typically, treatment takes from 6 to 12 minutes.
Q: How many treatments will I need?
A: The number of treatments depends on the condition being treated. Acute conditions require fewer treatments, whereas chronic conditions require more. Your specific treatment plan can be discussed in detail with Dr. Mennetti.
Q: How long before I feel results?
A: Even though you may not feel improvement, it does not mean that nothing is happening. Each treatment is cumulative, and results are most often felt after 3-4 sessions. However, some patients have reported feeling an improvement in their condition after the first treatment (usually the reduction of pain).
Q: Can laser therapy be used with other types of treatment?
A: Yes, laser therapy is often used with other forms of treatment, including physical therapy, chiropractic adjustments, massage, soft tissue mobilization, and electrotherapy. These other forms of therapy are complementary and can be used in conjunction with laser therapy to increase treatment effectiveness.
